Granhøj Dans
THIS IS NOT MÅRUP CHURCH

I went into the empty Mårup Church – I had just passed by. At that time, only the walls remained.
Here I heard the most beautiful song I have ever heard. Some would say it was a high-flying lark.
But I stood there for a long, very long time and listened. Suddenly I heard something… or someone gathering in a group – and they sang – from up there.”
— Palle Granhøj

The award-winning dancer and choreographer Palle Granhøj was born in Skallerup. THIS IS NOT MÅRUP CHURCH is a personal and magnificent performance – a hybrid of words, live music, choir and movement. A performance that originates from the choreographer’s own home, but which also draws threads out into the world. On stage you can experience the choreographer himself, four renowned international dancers, a singer, a polyphonic North Jutland men’s choir and two international star musicians on violin and cello.
